Registration is now open for the Democracy R&D Annual Meeting 2025, which will take place in Brussels on October 15–16. This year’s conference is hosted by FIDE, G1000, Missions Publiques, and Democratic Society, and will bring together a global community of academics, practitioners, and policymakers committed to strengthening deliberative democracy.
The Democracy R&D Annual Conference is the network’s flagship event—an inclusive and dynamic gathering of democratic innovators from around the world. It’s a space to exchange knowledge, challenge assumptions, share tools and strategies, and deepen professional connections across countries and contexts.
The theme for this year’s gathering is Crossroads. Seven years after Democracy R&D was founded, we find ourselves navigating a diverse landscape: from inspiring breakthroughs to unfinished experiments, from new actors entering the field to persistent global challenges like polarisation, autocratisation, and populism. These conditions not only underscore the urgency of our work but also compel us to ask: what paths can public deliberation take to meaningfully respond to this moment?
We look forward to welcoming old friends and new faces alike in Brussels.
